Why adopt?
Unlike sites that exist solely for planting
new trees the advantages of adopting an already established
tree at Lairdside Wood are many. The trees, which
were planted in 1995 are now 15 years of age and
have successfully survived potential damage caused
by disease, burrowing voles, hares etc. The carbon
capture of a larger tree is of course
greater than a newly planted tree.
If your personal
preference is to have a new tree planted instead of adopting one
this can be done at a cost of £20. The tree
will be planted as soon as the growing season allows,
which is either in early spring or late autumn.
Unlike
so many traditional gifts which are often thrown
away this is one than will continue to grow and benefit the environment
and
landscape for generations to come.

Each bird/bat box has a number, so that visitors can come and visit the boxes they have sponsored. Each adoption lasts for 5 years and can be renewed. Please email us if you would like more than 2 trees.

When
you adopt a tree, bird or bat box you will be provided
with a certificate on recycled paper, personalised as required and
a
photograph of the part of the wood where your tree
is growing.
Consideration was given to offering dedication
plaques on individual trees but as these could cause
damage as well as looking alien in
a natural woodland setting we will not mark individual
trees. You are of course welcome to pay a visit to
the wood at any time.
Payment
The preferred method of payment is by Paypal - it has easy to follow instructions
and is secure. Payment can also be made by cheque made
out to Tartan Trees.
